Integrated Pest Management

The Healthy Schools Act, which is administered by the California Environmental Protection Agency's Department of Pesticide Regulation, requires each school to develop an integrated pest management plan (IPM).  The IPM focuses on the long-term prevention of pests through the use of a combination of techniques such as identifying and monitoring pests, understanding pest biology, excluding pests from structures, using non-chemical methods, and keeping records.  Pesticides that pose the least harm to people and the environment are used only if other methods do not achieve adequate control.  For a copy of the District's IPM, please use the following link:  BRSSD Integrated Pest Management Plan.
